Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American political advisor, served as the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021-2022. A member of the Democratic Party she has previously served in the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House deputy director of communications (2009–2011) as well as the spokesperson for the United States Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was a CNN political contributor between 2017 until 2020. Psaki began her career in 2001 by working on the re-election campaigns of Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate and Tom Vilsack for governor. Psaki was later appointed as the press secretary's deputy in John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004. Psaki worked as the director of communications for Joseph Crowley in the U.S. and was the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was appointed the press secretary of President Obama's 2012 presidential election campaign. 20 Psaki resigned as spokesperson for United States Department of State, on February 11, 2013. It was believed that Psaki would be replacing Jay Carney as White House Press Secretary.[21] However, Josh Earnest was announced to succeed Carney on May 30th, 2014. In the year 2015, she was recalled to the White House as communications director and remained until the close of the Obama administration.
